Garages are still a target for thieves and push bikes and tools are being stolen.

The report highlights the fact that an early call to suspicious activity can lead to the thieves being caught.

The West End team say "Anytime you see someone who seems out of place, hanging around an isolated lane or cycling whilst pushing another bike, there is a good chance there is something amiss, so phone it in.  We'd rather check it out and satisfy ourselves it is innocent than miss the opportunity to get someone their bikes back".

The local policing team are based at Whinhill and request that if any suspicious activity is seen they are contacted, either as an emergency on 999 or on the Police Scotland Service Centre at 101.
