Muscular Dystrophy Fund raising evening

Jodie Whitham the Regional Development Manager (Scotland & Northern Ireland) of Muscular Dystrophy UK is organising a night with clairvoyant, clairaudient and clairsentient Annie Moon on Saturday 6 May at the Ashvale, Great Western Road, at 7.00pm.

The proceeds of the event will be used to sponsor Ms Whitham to carry out a trek to Petra in Jordan in aid of Muscular Dystyrophy UK.  10 years ago, Ms Whitham raised funds for the charity by climbing mount Kilimanjaro.

There are estimated to be 110,000 people in the UK with the muscle-wasting condition, and it is truly devastating as the 60 different types can be life-limiting.

More details about Jodie and Muscular Dystrophy UK can be found on her "just giving" page" at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/jodie-whitham1.

Tickets costing £26 each (but the price includes an Ashvale supper!) can be obtained by contacting Jodie on Mobile: 07771 374839, by email jodie26@live.co.uk

If you would like information or support on muscle-wasting conditions you can call the MD helpline on 0800 652 6352 or write to them at Muscular Dystrophy UK, 32 Ufford Street, London,  SE1 8QD

Temporary Parking Restrictions - Cranford Road

Scottish Water are carrying out work in Cranford Road and, as a consequence, a temporary no-waiting restriction will be in force.

The restriction prohibits parking on either side of Cranford Road, Aberdeen, from the access road at the side of number 129 Cranford Road to the boundary between numbers 121 and 123 Cranford Road.

The restrictions begin at 8am on 08 May 2023 and will end at 6pm on 12 May.

The measure is necessary to protect public safety during works and any parked vehicles between these times will be removed at the owners’ expense.

Hazlehead School Bus reprieve

With the withdrawal of funding for bus routes in Aberdeen, there was a great deal of community concern about the future of the number 52 Route which runs twice a day, on week days, between Mannofield and Hazlehead Academy.

With the support of our local councillors, the Community Council lobbied First Aberdeen to continue the service.

On 5 April, First Aberdeen advised that they were introducing timetable adjustments to the 15 bus service to absorb the 52 service into that route and ensure continuity of service for pupils travelling to and from Hazlehead Academy.  The adjusted route will renamed the 15S.

The new timetabling will begin on Sunday 16 April.

The Community Council are delighted that First Aberdeen have retained this very important route and that our calls for it's continuation on grounds of safety were heeded.

We would like to thank our local councillors for their support and the residents who contacted us and shared information that allowed us to present the case for retention.
