Welcome to the web presence of the Braeside and Mannofield Community Council.
Community Councils are statutory bodies, set up by an Act of Parliament. Their term of office is 3 years and they receive an annual grant from the City Council.
They have no executive powers although being close to and part of the local community they play a vital role in representing the views of the community to local authorities and other public bodies.
Anyone who lives within the Community Council area and whose name is on the electoral roll can be nominated or apply to become a Community Councillor.
There are also places for young people aged 16 and 17 years and other co-options are allowed.
The Braeside and Mannofield Community Council has an upper limit of 12 members.

Community Choir still need help/members

The new Community Choir has not yet secured the services of either an accompanist or a Choir Leader.  It is essential for the success of the choir that these positions are filled as soon as possible.

If you can fulfil any of these two roles (either on a temporary or permanent basis), or you know anyone who can and might be interested, the organisers would love to hear from you.

If you can help please contact Audrey Harvey at audreyharvey@talktalk.net

The next meeting of the group is on Tuesday 1 May at the Airyhall Library and it would be really great if someone would volunteer to act as accompanist either as a temporary measure till they can get someone longer term or for the longer term.

As well as a leader and an accompanist, the choir is need of an administrator and some more singers (pretty short on males).  If you can help in an capacity drop Audrey a line or just turn up.
