Ice Grippers
Last year the Community Council purchased a quantity of overshoe ice grippers to help residents whose mobility was restricted or curtailed because of frost/snow and the fear of falling.
The grippers proved so popular that the Community Council have, again, purchased 250 pairs of ice grippers and placed them at various local community outlets for distribution.
If you would like a pair of the ice grippers to help you move around in ice and snow please call in at Airyhall Community Centre, St Francis Church, Cafe Connect at Mannofield Church or Airyhall Library and ask the staff there for a pair.
All of the grippers have been distributed to these outlets for issuing on a priority need, first come first served basis. The Community Council do not hold a stock of grippers and, unfortunately numbers are limited so once the supply has been exhausted, there are no more.
The ice grippers come in two sizes – Medium (shoe sizes 3-6) and Large (shoe sizes 7-11)
Fingers crossed that winter will be kind to us and the need for the overshoe grippers will be minimal.
