"The report aims to highlight emerging issues in your area, and to provide crime prevention advice and guidance to Community Council members and residents you represent. Our focus is to reduce crime and disorder, help create safer communities and respond effectively to local concerns.
Community Policing Priorities
Antisocial behaviour, Violence and Disorder:
The Antisocial Behaviour calls within the area remain mostly calls relating to poor behaviour from across the age spectrum with regarding people carrying on the party on their way home. Whilst not immediately a cause for concern such behaviour can often lead to vandalisms and concern calls later in the evening, so if you think it could turn into something else let us know.
There have been no reported of vandalisms or assaults during the reporting period.
Acquisitive Crime:
There has been a report of a theft from an insecure vehicle which was entered overnight a small amount of loose change and personal items were taken. We would remind everyone particularly those with vehicles with automatic locking, to check last thing at night that it’s locked with the remote.

Road Safety & Road Crime:
In response to your requests Officers will be taking a robust approach balancing education with enforcement to ensure the relatively small minority who are responsible for committing offences and antisocial behaviour with vehicles are held accountable for their actions. We will be working with partners and making use of antisocial behaviour legislation. Residents in the areas affected by antisocial driving are encouraged to contact Police on 101 at the time to report incidents in order for us to take positive action.
Last month we mentioned our After Dark initiative, this month you can look forward to AFTER DARK II, where we revisit those properties which were in darkness and check to see if they have taken on board our advice about making your house look occupied.
As was discussed at a recent meeting you don’t have to take part in any of the crime prevention initiatives we suggest, but there again I’m sure you don’t want to look like the injured Wildebeest when the Lions come looking either. Don’t be the easy or obvious target!
Please
- Make sure tools, garden equipment are locked away.
- Cycles should be locked to something in a garage or shed, we I know it’s a pain but that’s what makes them unattractive to steal.
- Look at the locks on your garage and shed, could you get past them easily if you needed to.
- Are you security lights still pointing in the right direction? Do their sensors need cleaning?

Our advice as the seasons change and the weather can worsen is to familiarise yourself with your plan (we know you have one) for disruption which could be anything from flooding to a power cut.
Have look and see if you have enough de-icer and washer fluid for your car, do you know where your local grit bins are?
This is the time to think WHAT WOULD I DO IF!
If we have a significant snowfall or a period of prolonged cold temperatures do you
have a snow shovel, if you rely on solid fuel do you have enough?
Once your plans are complete please spare a thought for the elderly and vulnerable in your local area. You might have a SUV and lots of outdoor clothing to get out and about, they may not.
If you are travelling on the roads you should ensure you and your vehicle are adequately prepared for the conditions, making sure you have sufficient fuel and supplies such as warm clothing, food and water in the event you are delayed.
Charge your mobile phone and plan your route in advance. Listen to media broadcasts, especially local radio, and visit the Traffic Scotland website for more advice.
Our new warning levels are:
• Travel with Caution
• High Risk of Disruption
• Avoid Travel on the Roads
• High winds - travel with caution - vulnerable vehicles
