Elgin Energy EsCo Ltd is seeking to develop a Battery Storage System at Land to the south of Countesswells Road, Aberdeen, AB15 9QJ . The company are seeking views on this proposal ahead of submitting a planning application to Aberdeen City Council. 

The development will occupy approximately 4 hectares of agricultural land and will accommodate approximately 40 megawatts (MW) of battery storage standalone. A project lifetime of 50 years is proposed.

Elgin Energy would like to hear views on the proposal and how it might benefit not only the wider environment but its immediate surroundings.

A dedicated project website has been created to share information and to facilitate online feedback and comments. A community digital consultation is ongoing via the website below where you are able to make comment on the proposals directly via the survey provided or via email. These comments must be submitted no later than 18th of April 2025.

There will be two public consultation events will be held. The first on Monday 24th February 2025 at Palm Court Hotel, 81 Seafield Road, Aberdeen, AB15 7YX between 1:30pm-7pm. 

The second will be held on Thursday 3rd April 2025 at Airyhall Community Centre, Countesswells Road, Aberdeen, AB15 8AD between 1:30pm-7pm. During which team members and project specialists will be available to discuss the project.

Taking part in the pre application consultation does not affect your statutory rights to make  representations to Aberdeen City Council in respect of the planning application when submitted.
