Changes to Police Scotland Front Counter Services in Aberdeen.
A recent footfall survey conducted by Police Scotland found that the public counter at Marischal College is significantly underused when open during overnight hours. While the proposal would mean the removal of an overnight public counter service, in future, members of the public would benefit from increased choice over the location they attend.
A public consultation on the proposed changes will take place giving members of the public, officers and staff, and stakeholders the opportunity to share their views and provide feedback before any final decisions are made.
“Our Public Enquiry Support Assistants (PESAs) play a vital role in supporting the community every day, providing professional face-to-face assistance, information and guidance to help members of the public with a wide range of enquiries. These proposals are designed to ensure we can continue delivering that high standard of service in locations and at times that best meet the needs of our local community,”
“We look forward to hearing from the public and listening to their views on these proposals."
The consultation will be open Tuesday, 2 June to Sunday, 23 August, 2026, and can be accessed via the Police Scotland Engagement Hub. Please take the opportunity to view the public consultation, participate and encourage those around you to participate in the survey and have their voice heard.
