Local Policing - Changes in personnel
On 8 January, Ian McKinnon the Police Scotland Inspector responsible for the West End and Hazlehead Community Policing Teams is moving to another role within Police Scotland.
After 4 years as the local inspector, Ian is moving to the Community Safety Hub at Frederick Street in Aberdeen.
Ian has been a good friend to the Community Council, giving advice and information, ensuring that officers attend meetings, and supplying updates on police activity in our area that are relevant and accurate.
We all wish Ian good luck in his new post
Ian's place will be taken by another officer well known to the Community, Sergeant Dave Cowie. Dave will take up the post as temporary inspector and will continue the ethos of close community ties.
Again, we wish Dave the best of luck in his new role. Ian will be a hard act to follow.....no pressure then Dave.
Dave and his team on the West End and Hazlehead Community Policing Team can be contacted at
