COVID UPDATE AND INFORMATION
The Aberdeen City Health & Social Care Partnership have recently circulated the following updated information to assist in these COVID times:
Across Scotland and in Grampian, many of the measures that help us to understand the spread of the virus have been going in the right direction recently, but there are multiple factors at play. The surge in June was driven by Delta, Euro 2020 and social mixing. The school holidays and warmer weather, with more mixing outside seems to have had a positive impact on case numbers since then. If these are the driving factors, the situation could be just as easily reversed towards the end of the summer period. The good news though, is that with more people getting vaccinated we are getting closer to population immunity. The more immunity we can achieve through vaccination, the less people will be at risk infection and implications of Long Covid. In the meantime we can all play a part through regular testing, getting vaccinated and adhering to current advice e.g. wearing face masks, getting tested and isolating if you have symptoms
