Police Report November 2022

Our Community Policing Team have released the following summary of activity in our area during November.

"Community Policing Priorities

Antisocial behaviour, Violence and Disorder:

This month officers have continued to carry out patrols across the Community Council ward as part of their duties. A short term operation was put in place to target reports of drug dealing in the area of Cranford Road, as highlighted last month at the community council meeting.  I can report that several people were stopped and searched by Officers during the operation. One was found to be in possession of a small quantity of controlled drugs and was arrested regarding it.

We continue to be grateful to all the members of the public who contact us to report issues they find suspicious.

 Acquisitive Crime:

On 30 November, Police received several call from residents on Airyhall Gardens, reporting a suspected bogus caller going door to door asking to do “speed checks to internet speed” The residents called and passed a description of the male and his direction of travel. Police attended and the male was traced, his identify and credentials were checked and he did actually work for an internet company, looking to identify savings for residents. It was all in order and the residents mind was put at ease.

Road Safety & Road Crime:

Reports of speeding within Cranford Road were received by the CPT,  officers were out the weekend prior to the report as part of high visibility patrols in the area, there were no drivers spoken to regarding their speed, as none were found to be exceeding the limit. One driver was however found to have various motoring defects, and was charged and had their vehicle seized. We will continue to give the area attention and will liaise with Aberdeen City Council Road Safety Unit to find a long term resolution.

On the 7th, there were 2 reports of low level road traffic collisions, one at Airyhall Library and the other on Springfield Road, both were reported for information only as there were no injury and the parties exchanged details, as such there was no requirement for police to attend.

We continue to work with partners in response to specific complaints in terms of road traffic offences.  Residents in the areas affected by antisocial driving are encouraged to contact Police on 101 at the time, to report incidents and provide as much description as possible of the vehicle(s)/person(s) in order for us to take positive action.

 LOCAL POLICE PLAN 2023-26

The planning cycle for the development of the Local Police Plans 2023-26 has commenced. The majority of the work is required to be completed by Local Policing Divisions with assistance and support from staff within Police Scotland’s Strategy, Insight and Engagement Team.

Priorities have been established through the Your Police survey mechanism, which has allowed members of the public, and public, private and third sector organisations to tell us what is important to them, and what they want officers and staff to prioritise during the lifespan of the Local Police Plan.

We would now like to invite you to provide feedback on the draft Local Police Plans.  This can be done pressing clicking here.
