Countesswells Road - consultations
Complaints have been made in relation to the lack of adequate crossing facilities across Countesswells Road at the junction of Countesswells Road between Seafield Road and Countesswells Road. Observation surveys were carried out which identified a demand for a pedestrian refuge island.
The proposed prohibition of waiting at any time restrictions are to ensure that this new crossing facility is clear of parked cars to enable adequate visibility of the crossing point for oncoming traffic and also maintaining adequate visibility for vulnerable pedestrians waiting to cross at this location.
The existing double yellow lines in this area will be reconfigured to mitigate against the loss of on-street parking spaces as a result of establishing the pedestrian refuge island, albeit there will ultimately be a loss of two or three car lengths.
