First year Achievements
The Community Council has now been in existence for a full year and were recently viewing our work and the achievements so far.
In the past 12 months we have:
1. ensured the replacement of missing roadside trees in the Craigton Road and Northcote area by Aberdeen City Council.
2. been actively involved in pursuing provision of bus services in
Airyhall engaging with the local council and first bus.
3. developed a transparent and accountable process for the application of
Community Council funding.
4. fully funded a flower planting community
initiative in Northcote Park.
5. made a donation to a local church chair appeal.
6. raised an issue about overhanging branches in Craigton Road and were successful in having them removed by Aberdeen City Council.
7. submitted objections to the removal of the telephone kiosk in Great Western Road at Hammerfield Avenue.
8. established a web site to act as a point of information and contact for the residents in the Braeside and Mannofield Community Council area.

Currently we are pursuing the following matters on behalf of the Community:
1. Communication with Aberdeen City Council Roads
Dept to review the need for a crossing at Great Western Road at TESCO.
2.
Communication with Aberdeen City Council Roads
Dept to review speed limit indication in Craigton Road.
3.
Communication with Aberdeen City Council Roads
Dept to review the bus turning capability at Craigton Road/Springfield Road.
4.
Communication with Aberdeen City Council Roads
Dept to review the extension of 30 mph speed limit in North Deeside Road at
Northcote Road.
